"In Nepal, gender roles are defined by the expectations and responsibilities assigned to specific genders, based on traditional beliefs. Males are expected to earn a living, while females are expected to take care of the household and be a source of support. This definition limits women's opportunities in the job market, with jobs being strictly gender-defined.
However, this situation is slowly changing, especially in urban areas where women have better access to education and are better prepared for work. In rural areas, however, this traditional definition of gender roles remains unchanged."
